Vale AI ("Vale", "we", "us") is a Shopify app made by BEACHBOARD LLC. It builds online stores for Shopify merchants and offers tools that help those stores sell. This policy explains what information Vale collects when a merchant installs and uses the app, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices merchants have.
Information we collect
When you install Vale, Shopify shares some information about your store with us, and you give us more as you use the app:
- Store information: your store's Shopify address and name, and the access Shopify grants Vale so it can work on your store. If Shopify shares the name and email of the person signed in, we keep them with that sign-in.
- Your brand answers: your brand name, description, chosen style, colors, logo, product links and prices, and the store details you choose to give us (shipping, returns, promotions, delivery times, and support hours).
- What Vale creates for you: your brand kit, store layouts, product descriptions, images, and settings for upsells, reviews, SEO, and landing pages.
- Sales figures: to show revenue on your Dashboard, Vale reads your orders' dates, totals, and discount names from Shopify. It doesn't read your customers' names, emails, or addresses, and it doesn't store your orders.
- Feature requests: ideas you send us, and your votes on other merchants' ideas.
Most of what Vale creates, like your theme, products, discounts, reviews, and images, is saved in your own Shopify store, where you control it.
How we use information
- To provide the app: research your market, design your brand kit, build your theme, import your products, and run the tools you turn on.
- To bill you through Shopify for Vale Pro, and to know which features your plan includes.
- To provide support, fix problems, keep the app secure, and improve it.
- To read feature requests and decide what to build next. Other merchants see the ideas you share, but never your store's name.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run Vale, and only what each one needs:
- Shopify, where the app runs and where your store and billing live.
- Render, which hosts Vale's servers and database in the United States.
- Anthropic, whose Claude models write your brand kit, store copy, and descriptions, research your market, and review feature requests. We send them your brand answers and product details.
- fal.ai, which generates brand photos from written descriptions. We send it those descriptions, not your personal information.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while Vale is installed on your store. When you uninstall Vale, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data, and we delete it from our database: your brand answers, logo, generated content, settings, feature requests, and sign-in records. Anything Vale saved in your Shopify store, like themes and products, stays there for you to keep or delete.
Your choices and rights
You can change or delete most of what Vale creates in your Shopify admin. To ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to have it deleted sooner, email us at support@valeai.co. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local privacy laws, and we'll honor them.
Your customers' information
Vale doesn't collect or store your shoppers' personal information. Reviews you add with Vale Reviews are saved in your Shopify store. When Shopify sends us a request about a shopper's data, we respond to it as Shopify requires.
Security
Vale uses encrypted connections, keeps secrets out of its code, and limits access to its systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app or by email.
